Position Overview

CUMULUS - Fresno's KMJ radio, Fresno’s heritage news and talk station, is seeking a part-time fill‑in Talk Show Host. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a passion for news, current events, and engaging live radio.

 

Position Summary:

As a Part-Time Talk Show Host, you will serve as an on-air fill‑in host as needed, contributing to live and recorded programming on KMJ. You will engage listeners with thoughtful conversation, manage caller interaction, and work closely with programming leadership to maintain KMJ’s high broadcast standards.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Host live and/or recorded talk radio shows as assigned
• Prepare show content, topics, and rundowns relevant to local, state, and national issues
• Engage listeners through calls, interviews, and audience interaction
• Operate studio equipment during broadcasts (training available as needed)
• Adhere to FCC regulations and company policies at all times
• Collaborate with producers, programming staff, and management

Qualifications:

• On-air broadcasting or public speaking experience preferred
• Strong verbal communication and interviewing skills
• Knowledge of news, politics, and current events
• Ability to think quickly and perform well in a live broadcast environment
• Dependable, professional, and flexible availability
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, or fill‑in shifts as needed

Pay Range

USD $25.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.
